Servings: 4 people
Degree of Difficulty: Easy
It is a recipe that Mrs. Evaggelia loved very much and made often at Lotos Apartments. This is a wonderful dish, Best of the salads, where all the flavors blend together and give a great result. Enjoy!
Recipe ingredients
- 2 mugs of chickpeas
- 3 smoked herring fillets
- 2 Florine peppers
- 2 tbsp. capers
- 2 fresh onions
- Some basil leaves
- Sweet paprika
- Thyme
- Salt Pepper
- Olive oil
- Vinegar
Procedure
Soak the chickpeas from the night before and boil them in well salted water for about 30 minutes in the oven. Calculate the time accordingly if you are going to boil them in a regular saucepan. Strain them well and transfer them to a salad bowl. Cut the herring fillets in batch size and add them to the chickpeas. Continue with the chopped peppers, capers, onions and finally add a few leaves of fresh basil for flavor. Sprinkle with paprika, thyme, salt and pepper and add oil and vinegar.
Little secret: The herring can be replaced with anchovy marinade, lacquer or tuna.
