The Residence – Museum “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” is classified as an authentic (documentary) home, since it is recounting the life of a personage and it is preserving authentic items, most of them in their original position.

The temple of Saint Maria Magdalene is located in Chalepa, the noble district of Chania that flourished in the 19th century, when Eleftherios Venizelos who lived here emerged as the most important leader of modern Greece.

The Patriarchal Monastery of Chrysopigi was founded in Chania during the last period of the Venetian Period (end of 16th century) and is dedicated to Panagia Zoodocho Pigi.

The Courthouse, or “The Courts” as it is called, was built during the last years of Turkish occupation (1893) and was intended for a Turkish military hospital.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the area was home to tanneries, namely small leather craft businesses, which remained active until the end of the 1970s.
